We Have Life!

WE HAVE LIFE! Although the final score was 7-3 there were many moments in this game where as a broken Mets fan, I thought we were going to blow it. Vibes weren't always great last night but we battled and live to see another day. Lindor came up huge with a first inning home run (was only the 2nd home run from a Mets SS in their postseason history. Sad.) which really got the crowd into it for the rest of the night. Jacob deGrom in what could very well be his last time pitching in New York, was outstanding even though he really didn't have his best stuff. Every time we would take a lead the Padres would tie it right back up but deGrom escaped two big jams that kept us right where we needed to be.

Then in the 5th our guy Pete Alonso came through with a clutch homer that put the Mets up for good even though I had anxiety the rest of the game expecting the worst to happen.

The worst almost did happen when Adam Ottavino walked 3 guys and hit 1 to bring the tying run, Mets killler Josh Bell, to the plate in the top of the 9th but Seth Lugo shut the door with a ground out. So just like that the Mets are back from the dead and tonight we can move on to play the Dodgers in the NLDS.

I'll be honest, I don't have a ton of confidence in the boys tonight. Not because I think we won't hit or that Chris Bassitt won't pitch well but because both the Giants and Jets have won today and I feel like we are being set up for heartbreak. That being said I am ready to be hurt again because there's no feeling like rooting for your team in the playoffs (doesn't happen to often for us) and if a heartbreak is the result then so be it.

We got life, we got the momentum, we got to believe!
